Unskinny Bop

by sylvia

As Bianca mentioned in an earlier post, we donned some 80s get ups, teased our hair, plastered on the makeup, and headed out to watch Cheap Trick, Poison and Def Leppard, all in one show.

We had hoped we would get some great glimpses of mullets, tramp stamps, acid wash and big hair, but we were disappointed.  We saw a lot of crop pants and comfortable sandals, polo shirts and khakis, and teenagers who didn’t seem to be there just because their parents made them go.

It wasn’t quite what we were hoping for, but awesome nonetheless.

We really felt like true celebrities as we walked into the venue and all eyes were on us.  Of course, we were nervous as hell, as we didn’t drink nearly enough to brave the crowd proudly.  Don’t worry, folks – we didn’t drink and drive – the hubs dropped us off and picked us up.

All eyes couldn’t help but be on us, as we were as electrified as a neon sign when all around is dark.

The infamous pants:

So we’re walking in and getting our tickets taked, and our bags searched, and Bianca, the smooth-talker that she is, said “I’m hiding a gun in my cleavage.”  We’ll chalk that up to nervous energy, but to make matters worse, there was a sheriff’s deputy standing right there – she said it practically directly to him!

That’s bad enough on it’s own, but we had hidden about 3-4 small bottles (each) of liquor under our boobies.  A great place to store things, unless you want to keep those things cold.  Or even tepid.  Or perhaps room temperature.

Yeah, no such luck.

How could all eyes not have been on us?  I mean, seriously:

So we got a taste of celebrity (or something) and we strolled in and people wanted to take pictures with us.  We bonded with beer cans and sickly-sweet margaritas with like-minded people who attempted to dress “up” as we did, including the crimped-hair twins and the fake-mullet douchebags.

It was almost too much to bear.  Almost.

(shopping details – we bought practically everything from Torrid)
